Day 2

Good morning,

I am posting things I am thankful for on my facebook page everyday for the month of November, as are a number of others

Today my post was:

Good morning, today I am thankful for memories, as I age I remember more things from my past! I am recalling a lot of childhood blessings that I had not remembered before, luckily God is kind enough to let them be good memories! I am thankful for my Mom and Dad whom had the courage to adopt and love a child sight unseen, and be the perfect parents for me! Thank you GOD, and thank you Mom and Dad

I don't know about you, but I had a dysfunctional childhood! As far as I know everyone back in those times was dysfunctional, because we didn't have government and medical associations judging our every move, we lived life as it had been through all times!

We laughed, we loved, we worked, we worshipped, we looked out for one another, we didn't have rural fire departments our volunteer firemen were neighbors helping out one another! When I was a child we had an old telephone that hung on the wall at face level, there was a cone shaped speaker that came out of the middle of the wooden box and there was a cone/bell shaped ear piece that hung from the side of the box, there was a hand crank on the right side of the box, as the majority of people were right handed the left handed people had to figure it out and deal with it, we didn't have political correctness back then, thank goodness!

There was a series of rings that meant certain things, the only one I remember right now is ten short rings and that meant FIRE!!!!! All families that were home at the time would get on the phone, usually all at the same time; we had what was called a party line, (as did all, but the richest family's) for those of you who do not know everyone had access to the line at all times, and there was an operator who also had access to the line and all calls and callers at all times: GASP!!!!!!!!!!! That's right, you could eavesdrop as could your neighbors on all phone calls, there were no secrets back in those days, as a matter of fact, if someone wanted the phone and they thought you had been on long enough they would butt in and ask for the line! Not rude just the way things were, no one took offense! IMAGINE THAT?

Anyhow back to my story, sorry my ADD kicked in, I have a vivid memory from when I was maybe 6 or 7 and we went to one of these calls, the children were all herded of to the side safely away from the fire, maybe 50 feet away, close enough to feel the warmth, but well within sight, and the mom's and the dad's started a bucket brigade, the would line up from the water source usually a hand water pump and water trough and fill buckets and pass them to and from the fire one at a time, women closer to the water men closer to the fire, sorry lady's there were no feminists at that time! They would continue this until the fire was out or the building burnt down! There were fire depts back then but usually just in the larger cities and they would show up but usually not for a longer time and then there was just one maybe two trucks, communities looked out for one another and did a damn fine job too!

As little kids we didn't realize the brevity of the situation it was simply a social event for us and our parents were working together as friends and neighbors

That was our dysfunctional life!

Oh if only our Dysfunction was politically correct at this time!

How about you? Do you have any stories to share? I would love to hear all memories as I truly believe they are the thread that weaves our being from the day God creates us and through the course of our journey here

If any of you didn't figure out yet, my period does not work so forgive my run on sentences

I can't apologize for my ramblings as that is the way my mind works, I could deal with it with more sensitivity when I was young, but the older I get the less I care, honesty cuts through the crap

SAY WHAT YOU MEAN AND MEAN WHAT YOU SAY!

There is no point in trying to tell a story if you have to worry about every word upsetting someone, they will get over it unless they can find a lawyer that will take it on and make them a ton of money like spilling coffee on yourself-WHO KNEW COFFEE WOULD BE HOT?

That's all for now, I am exhausted and that wasn't even what I was gonna talk about today, go figure

Catch you later

What?

I forgot, I will try to end each blog with a question!

Todays question: What would you most like to do before you Die?

Good morning world

This is the first day for the rest of my blogs for as long as the good LORD allows!

This site is designed to share my experiences old and new!

Please feel free to ask questions and offer opinions, the more the merrier!

I am going through reverse puberty, or as the world knows it menopause!

When going through puberty, mother nature is shoving thing in and out of your body against you will! growing breast, starting you mense, and to the lucky few a good case of acne! Boys too, body hair, voice change and I'm not sure what else!

Where as menopause is the reverse or the sucking out of puberty! Just as painful and surprising!

I know why they don't teach classes on either one of these as the prospect is just as scary for both!

There is no graceful way to age, in my opinion we are all dragged into it kicking and screaming!

I feel women have a midlife crisis just as do men!

Our's just manifests itself in different ways, new hair, new clothes, new men(toyboys?)

Everyone that knows what I am talking about raise your hands!

As I age, I find that my short term memory is non-existant, but things that I did/or that were done to me when I was a small child are just as vivid as the day they happened!

Funny not necessarily, but I do seem to recall only the good things, thank you God!

This is just a preview, of what you can expect on a daily basis, Oh and fair warning, I do have ADHD
so I have the attention span of a small puppy, get used to expecting the unexpected!

Any questions or comments will be enjoyed and answered!

To all my new friends enjoy, talk to you later!
